The healing process differs in meaning from person to person. The dictionary defines it: to heal means to make hale, sound, or whole; to cure of a disease, wound, or other derangement; to restore to soundness or health.

What heals one person might bring the opposite effect to another. With this in mind, healing alternatives in San Jose del Cabo vary widely and derive from the very basics of health: sunlight, water, rest, laugh, exercise, conscious nutrition, balanced energy and proper alignment, positive thinking, peaceful spiritual vibrancy.

Health is not an end, it is an ongoing journey.  Health is a lifestyle, and San Jose del Cabo offers an ideal lifestyle for the healthy. Here are some of the ways you can use the land of San Jose del Cabo to heal:

Spend time at the beach and soak in a healthy amount of sunshine. Walk, run by the sea, or lay down on the sand. For those who drink alcohol, a cold local beer while sunbathing could be what is needed!

All resorts and hotels offer spa services, but the town has so much to offer as well.  I love to take time with my closest girlfriend and receive a spa pedicure and manicure at Mexisun Day Spa, or a one-of-a-kind amazing personal Skin Therapy with Rene Davis, sometimes get a massage from Baja Wellness, practice yoga, or simply sleep in a comfy hamaca while the sun shines!

Go walk the town and meet other travelers. Find out where the music is playing, go to the art galleries events, go dancing. Or try something you have never done, like surfing. Anything that makes you laugh–laughing is, after all, the best healing medicine.

Yoga, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, horse riding, parachuting, kite-surfing, running, dancing, and walking on the beach are all fun and effective ways to exercise in San Jose del Cabo. You can go solo, in a group, or you can choose to be instructed by a professional.

Conscious Nutrition
What you eat not only regenerates you at the cellular level, it defines your state of mind. San Jose del Cabo is known for its healthy culinary culture. All restaurants will offer you dishes prepared with local and organic produce and Chefs in our town take their craft to the heart. If you are not eating out, make sure to visit our Organic Farmer’s Market or relax while taking a cooking class at one of San Jose’s Organic Farms. In my experience, eating is a listening practice, when eating you must listen to yourself and honor how you feel.

Balancing Energy and Alignment
San Jose del Cabo is home to several ancient healing practices that focus on balancing your energy fields and aligning your spine. Try a Temazcal with Baja Wellness, a traditional sweat lodge used to facilitate the healing of individuals with physical and spiritual ills. Visit the town Acupuncturist Eduardo Sierra. Explore the Transformational Breath  or Watsu sessions offered at Centro de Raices y Brazos, sit to meditate by the beach. Be part of a Shamanic dance honoring the full moon, or enjoy a Chiropractor fix with Corado Green.
