The Baja 1000 is one of the most famous rally races in the world, covering 1000 miles of the most rugged, unforgiving terrain that Mexico has to offer. Over 200,000 people are drawn to this even every year, hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the most famous rally races around. Over 300 cars, trucks, motorcycles, and ATVs will attempt to dominate the 1,000 mile mountainous course in hopes of “beating the Baja”. The race itself will start on November 18th, with official entry forms being available right up until the race. Over 30 US states will be represented in the race, as well as 15 countries. This will be the 38th year of this event, and it will start and finish on Boulevard Costero in Ensenada. This is really an event that needs to be experienced to be understood, and spectators are extremely encouraged to make their way out to view this exceptionally popular race.

The 2011 edition of the race will be a loop race starting and finishing in Ensenada.  The racers will travel from Ensenada east towards Ojos Negros, and Laguna Salada to San Felipe. They will continue Southward through the canyon washes of Matomi, Huatomote and Chanate towards to the six-mile turnoff before Mike’s Sky Rancho and then riding  to the Pacific Coast across Highway 1 by San Vicente and finally to Santo Tomas, Uruapan and back to Ojos Negros.

The official date for this event has been announced. The 44th Baja 1000 will take place November 17th through November 20th, 2011.
