Casa Kootenay B&B

Casa Kootenay B&B

Casa K 1

Casa Kootenay is a beachfront bed and breakfast that feels like a resort. Managed by a small family, Casa Kootenay invites you to be a family member while still getting the service, luxury and amenities of a resort.

At the large community clubhouse, you can enjoy wifi, media center, movies, games, music and tons of quiet comfortable locations for reading. Sit on the front porch and watch the dolphins, pelicans and beach goers. Sit in the private garden and catch some sun or lounge in the shade. Jump in the hot tub any time of the day, make a lunch in the outside kitchen, make use of the elliptical, yoga mat or TRX. Go upstairs to enjoy a higher view of the bay and enjoy the breeze and the sun.

Casa Kootenay offers breakfast every morning to the guests. The menu varies and consists of fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee and cereal to start, followed by a hot plate which is a mixture of Canadian and Mexican recipes. We will accommodate special dietary requirement with notice.

Casa Kootenay offers water sports that are included in the room price. There are options to kayak, paddleboard, windboard and tour the mangroves. This location is great for trying new things and getting your kids involved in water sports. If you feel unsure about an activity, we have a rescue boat on standby in case you get tired or change your mind while out on the water. This allows a freedom to explore your adventure side.

The house is in a comfortable secure community that provides ample parking and many activities within walking distance. The community offers a reptile museum, an activity center and grocery store.  Cinema and shopping mall are a five minute walk. The malecon (the beautiful seaside boardwalk) is a short distance away and the weekly market is along the route.

The hostess has been working the service industry with vacation goers for many years. She is knowledgable of the area and really goes out of her way to make your stay special. She is always in the mood for visiting and sharing a laugh. Many times she will surprise you with little extras such as a movie night in the garden, a fire on the beach, or a ride uptown. The energy she offers really creates a great atmosphere and it’s one of the reasons people keep coming back.

Casa Kootenay is named after a hometown of the owner/hostess. The Kootenays is a mountain range in the Rocky Mountains in British Columbia, Canada. That location is where the dream started so it was the only fitting namesake for the bed and breakfast.

The hostess opened this business three years ago after working ten years on live aboard boats around the world. She is still passionate about diving but wanted a new adventure and is enjoying her home and sharing it with others. She is really good at anticipating guests’ needs and offering  suggestions to get the most out of their vacations.

Casa Kootenay Bed and Breakfast is a great option for your holiday. It is located in La Paz, BCS, Mexico. This town is the perfect way to experience the Baja in style. La Paz offers the quintessential Mexican lifestyle. You can see the fishermen go out in the morning, you can see the abuelas (grandmothers) sweeping their driveway, you can see everyone greeting everyone. This town loves to offer festivals, presentations, activities in the town center and events all around town. La Paz shopping centro is covered in local flare and has two amazing mercados to wander as you get your fresh veggies.

A fabulous highlight of La Paz is the bay and Espiritu Santo. The island trips, the diving, the whale sharks, the sea lion encounters, the dolphins, the whale variations that cruise the waters, the fishing options and the blue water make La Paz a hidden gem for waterlovers.

Horseback riding, cactus museum, reptile museum, snorkeling, fishing, scuba diving, beach walking, kayaking, shopping, rollerblading, biking, touring the pictographs, hiking the mountains, and checking out the local towns is just a small taste of what La Paz offers.

Once asked what wows your guests, Casa Kootenay replied: As guests walk into Casa Kootenay Bed and Breakfast, they must walk through a lush archway into a private garden to their casita. ( That wows them.) As they settle into their room, they realize how clean and large it is and that it has the amenities to meet their needs. (That wows them.) As they come to the clubhouse for a tour and check in, they are met with a refreshment (that wows them) and then on the tour they realize all the spaces that are available to them and start to visualize their vacation. (That wows them.) They are also presented with a town map and quick 101 on La Paz to get them orientated and are presented with some option for making their plans. They don’t need to do the research of what is there; the hostess has all that and can present them with all options that meet their needs. (That wows them.)

When guests leave, they are left with the knowledge that they have a new friend. When they share their information, they will inform their friends of the waterfront location, available amenities, great company and amazing overall experience received at Casa Kootenay Bed and Breakfast, La Paz BCS.

Casa Kootenay offers a nightly rate of 80USD for double or single occupancy. 20USD per extra person. This rate includes breakfast and access to eco friendly watersports.

“Absolutely fabulous B&B and hostess!”

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We had an amazing time at Casa Kootenay! From an impromptu tour to explore whale sharks just hours after we arrived to our last delicious breakfast, everything was wonderful. Leanne was fantastic- gave us lots of tips on activities and organized bikes, kayaks, so on for us during our visit. We were able to truly relax (which is not something we are use to doing!!) and so enjoyed the beaches, the company, and La Paz. Highly recommend this gem and really want to go back!!

Stayed February 2013, traveled as a couple
