Platinum Luxury Auctions Announces Upcoming Auction of Cabo San Lucas Mansion

Following on the momentum of a flawless series of auctions – selling three-of-three luxury homes in southern California’s San Diego County – Platinum Luxury Auctions has ventured south of the border into Mexico’s Baja California Sur, with the announcement of a luxury real estate auction planned for April 30, 2016 in Cabo San Lucas. The auction will feature a tri-level mansion located in Cabo’s desirable Pedregal community. Although the residence was recently offered for a price of $10 million, it will now be sold to the highest bidder who meets or exceeds a reserve price of only$5 million.

Although this marks Platinum’s first transaction in Mexico, the firm’s members have closed more than $450 million in non-distressed, luxury real estate auction sales to date, including a number of record-setting sales for properties located outside ofthe United States. The auction sale will be held in cooperation with Snell Real Estate, an Engel and Völkers affiliate serving as the listing brokerage of record. The property, named Villa Searfoss by its original and only owner, is perched near the top of one of Pedregal’s tallest hills, allowing for inspiring vistas of the crystal blue skies and Pacific Ocean, in addition to panoramic views of Cabo’s mesmerizing sunsets, which turn the sky into a canvas of rich pinks, oranges, reds, and purples. The elevated location also offers a beautiful, bird’s-eye view of lower Pedregal and its beaches.

The tri-level estate was built to a “commercial-grade” standard, with a structure that is nearly entirely concrete. In total, Villa Searfoss offers more than 17,800 sq. ft. of constructed area, with 11,571 sq. ft. of interior space and more than 5,400 sq. ft. of terraces and balconies. The 788-sq. ft. pool deck includes a fire pit lounge, spa, and an infinity-edge pool that appears to flow right into the Pacific’s waters.

Additional features of the residence include a gourmet kitchen and grand salon which open to the vast pool deck, a large entertainment lounge, a covered terrace outfitted with multiple hammocks, and a 4-vehicle garage. The owner also invested in special details such as whole-house water filtration with UV purification, and a custom designed, high-volume plumbing system that insures that high-pressure, heated water flows throughout the estate at all times.

The gated, ocean-side community of Pedregal de Cabo San Lucas (often simply called “Pedregal”) has long been considered one of the finest residential enclaves in the Baja California Sur.
