March Events in Baja


The whale watching season is slowly drawing to an end (typically the end of March) and Baja is finding many other fun ways to entertain its residents and visitors as both the north and south of the peninsula are bursting with activity. In March Los Cabos is hosting Ironman as well as music and art festivals. In the North, Mexicali hosts the 12th edition of the AgroBaja, an agriculture, cattle and fishery Expo with the goal of creating job opportunities while one hundred miles to the south the excitement and adrenaline rush through the desert roads around San Felipe for the 27th MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250.

AgroBaja is the only agriculture, cattle and fishery Expo along the Mexico-US border. The popularity of this event has been growing for the past 10 years, starting with 12,000 visitors in its first edition, and reaching over 53,000 in 2011.





San Felipe

What:  27th MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250
When: March 8 to March 10.
The 27th MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 off road desert race is one of the most exciting and adrenaline filled sport events of the year in San Felipe. Before the race don’t miss the opportunity to take a close look at the racing vehicles on the Malecon, where racers will parade their cars.

San Jose del Cabo
Ironman Los Cabos
When:   March 17.
Ironman Los Cabos, the famous triathlon, is coming to Los Cabos in March 2013. The event will take place on March 17th, 2012, but there will be activities and training for the athletes starting on the 14th and awards ceremonies and closing parties on the 18th. Nearly 1,500 athletes from more than 50 countries are expected to participate. The competition offers a professional prize purse of $75,000 USD and 50 coveted age-group slots to the 2013 Ironman World Championship, on October 12, 2013.

Los Cabos Hilton Presents 9th annual LigaMAC

San Jose del Cabo
Los Cabos Hilton Presents 9th annual LigaMAC Jazz Fest
When:   March 22
The Los Cabos Hilton presents the 9th annual LigaMAC Jazz Fest, featuring the Preservation Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans. It will be a fabulous night of New Orleans-style food and fun. Last year’s edition of the event, held at the Hilton Hotel in San Jose del Cabo was a huge success, with over 400 people attending to enjoy music and a pantagruelian buffet.

San Felipe
Blues & Arts Fiesta
When:  March 22 & 23
Where:  Ventana al Mar, El Dorado Ranch

The seventh annual San Felipe Blues and Arts Fiesta is shaping up to be bigger and better than the very successful last six installment with two days of music and art. The Blues and Arts Fiesta is the first and original Baja blues event and each year continues to grow and attract art and music fans from throughout Baja, Sonora, California, and Arizona.

East Cape
20th Annual Festival of Arts

When: March 24
The beautiful Hotel Palmas de Cortez is hosting the 20th Annual Festival of Arts, a popular event sponsored by the Asociación de Artes of the East Cape where well known local and emerging artists will be able to showcase and sell their art.
There will be traditional food and beverages available for sale as well as great live music and dance groups.

Eleonora was raised Italy but moved to the United States after studying law and languages in Italy and having acquired a passion for food, travel, art and culture.
