Fairs, Festivals and Fiestas: May Events in Baja

Fairs, Festivals and Fiestas:  May Events in Baja

Rosarito is the event capital of Baja California in May, hosting two notable events, and furnishing the starting line for another. The latter, of course, is the spring running of the 50 Mile Rosarito to Ensenada Fun Bicycle Ride, a regional sporting tradition that dates back to 1979, and is known as “the original party on wheels.”

The kick-off edition of the biannual bicycle race begins at the Rosarito Beach Hotel, an historic lodging that will also play host to the peninsula’s best Mother’s Day celebration. On Saturday night, May 7, mamas will be treated to drinks, dinner and a floorshow in the hotel’s Salon Mexicano ballroom that pays tribute to legendary Mexican singers. Rosarito Art Fest also returns in May, showcasing local art, culture and cuisine at an all-new location.

There are hundreds of local events that can be found on The following represent some of our favorite selections.

Event dates and details are subject to sudden change and cancellation. Please confirm with the event organizers before booking your trip.
