A colonial town once known for its sugar mills is now home to surfers, artists, yogis, and organic farmers. Just south of the Tropic of Cancer and only one hour from Cabo San Lucas or La Paz, Todos Santos is nestled above a large palm grove on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur. This colonial town has historic homes, fine art galleries, boutique hotels, bed and breakfast inns, unique vacation rentals and many dining options—from tasty tacos to haute cuisine.
Long known as a cultural, artistic and agricultural center, the town is a desert oasis, one kilometer from the Pacific Ocean at the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. There are many beautiful beaches within a 30 minute drive of Todos Santos. Playa Las Palmas and Playa Los Cerritos are great beaches for swimming and shell collecting, and Playa Los Cerritos attracts surfers from around the world.

From one room bungalows to multifamily villas, Todos Santos has right vacation rental for every traveler. And why wouldn’t it?
This quaint and peaceful hamlet at the bottom of the Baja Peninsula is rather like a smaller and more charming Sedona (Arizona), with its many galleries and shops and bistros and rustic, traditional adobe buildings. And, it even has the very big plus of being a Pueblo Mágico, a magical village, as declared by the Mexican government in 2006.
Finding the kind of lodging that suits your travel style is easy in this elegantly casual town…and many are within walking distance of the main shopping area of the village. Be aware that Todos Santos is a seasonal place...so prices on lodging might vary depending on time of year. That said, there are always some special deals to be had....and Todos Santos is one of Baja's most idyllic pueblos in which to stay for awhile.

Watch the gray whales migrate along the shore, stroll by shops and art galleries in the Historic District, or catch perfect waves on the Pacific.
Todos Santos is like a town where time has slowed down, and it begs you to do the same. Admittedly, perhaps the most blissful past-time in this magical village (Pueblo Mágico) is to explore the arcades and stores, chatting with dueños (owners) and window shopping.
However, there is much more to do: Educational and fun eco tours are great for families. Walking on the wide sandy beaches is a delight and, although swimming can be a challenge with tricky currents and undertows, surfing and paddle-boarding are popular here.
And of course, there are festivals -- one of which includes the Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 12, with its ceremonies and posadas
