This is the iconic restaurant where the Caesar Salad dressing is said to have been invented in 1924 by then owner Cesare Cardini, an Italian immigrant. The restaurant is now owned by celebrity chef Juan Plascencia who breathed new life into the restaurant and its menu.
The famous salad is served table-side. Experienced servers take a full heart of crisp romaine lettuce which is then coated it in fresh garlic, anchovy paste, coddled egg, dry mustard Worcestershire Sauce and lime juice. Finally, it is topped with a single large crouton and Romano cheese.
