This race begins in Tecate – a wine and wine festival will be held on the day prior to the race – and concludes with a finish line fiesta just outside the San Nicolas Hotel and Casino in Ensenada. Although the race was started in the 1970s, this year marks the first time it has been held since 1993.
The 73 mile ride through Baja California’s wine country offers four major hill climbs, including a race-within-a-race in which a king and queen of the hill will be crowned. Prize money is given to the top three overall winners among men and women, and age group awards will also be presented. All finishers receive a medal, and all participants will receive an official race t-shirt. Shuttle service is available from San Diego and Ensenada.
The official date for this event has been announced. The Tecate to Ensenada International Bicycle Race will take place June 21, 2015. However, event dates and schedules are subject to sudden change and cancellation. Please confirm with the event organizer before booking your trip.
