Visitors to San Jose del Cabo must first decide whether to stay in town or at the beach. Playa California has a string of large, full-service resorts — most of them chains, some all-inclusive. This location is ideal for those who want to spend most of their time on or near the ocean with an occasional trip into town. In town, you’ll find more options for smaller properties, from which you can walk to shops and restaurants.
- Resorts: Most of the town’s large-scale resorts are located along Playa California. Only the Presidente InterContinental is walking distance from town.
- Small Hotels: A number of boutique-style hotels are located near the plaza, ranging from modest to luxury accommodations.
- Vacation Rentals: There are private properties for rent along the golf course and at several time-share resorts along the beach.
- Camping: San Jose del Cabo is a large town for the region, and options for camping are limited in the immediate vicinity. Best to head north along the Gulf Coast and camp on the beaches of the East Cape.
