The G20, a yearly meeting of the world’s strongest as well as the emerging economies, will take place in Los Cabos in 2012.
The G20 has 20 members, 19 countries plus the European Union: Germany, Canada, The United States, France, Italy, Japan, The United Kingdom, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Brasil, China, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Mexicom South Africa, Tureky, Australia and The European Union. Spain will also be represented being a permanent guest of the organization. Also invited to the 2012 G20 meeting are Chile, Colombia, Sweden, Benin and Cambodia.
The summit’s meetings will be held at the new Convention Center in San Jose del Cabo to discuss economic and financial issues such as the reform of international financial institutions, financial supervision and regulation, and the international monetary system. The members will also touch upon non-financial issues but ones that, nonetheless, have an impact on international financial instability such as energy, development, job creation, food security and corruption.
The G2o is expected to bring over 12,000 visitors to the Los Cabos area that weekend. American president Barack Obama and Mexican President Felipe Calderon are also on the guest list.
