The 2013 San Felipe Shrimp Festival has been announced and crustacean lovers everywhere are already dreaming about coconut shrimp, shrimp sauteed in butter and garlic, grilled shrimp, shrimp ceviche and the famous bacon-wrapped Costa Azul Shrimp. The city, located on the sparkling Sea of Cortez, is renowned for its tender and succulent ‘blue’ shrimp that become the stars of the culinary gala.
The event will take place on Nov. 1 (opening ceremonies, primarily), 2 and 3 in San Felipe and will feature the culinary talents of some of Baja’s top chefs. In addition, there will be plenty of stores and vendor booths with everything from silver jewelry to ranchero hats to beachy clothing to be had a phenomenal prices. All of the main action will take place on the newly renovated San Felipe malecon. Admission is free!
