Eating in Rosarito

Many visitors come to Rosarito Beach for the delicious meals served by dozens of restaurants. The area serves some of the freshest, tastiest lobster on the west coast and a variety of other seafood is available at many of the fine restaurants.

Like any other exciting tourist destination, Rosarito has some stand-outs.  Chabert’s is located at the Rosarito Beach Hotel. Once a part of the family mansion, it now serves as a cosmopolitan and international dining experience. The beautiful décor, mostly from the 1920’s and 1930’s, offers collector’s artwork, Italian mirrors, and it is all centered around a fireplace constructed of seven varieties of imported marble. Award winning chef, Heriberto Astengo, serving the restaurant during the last decade, has created a delectable menu.  Splash!, located at km-52, is known for the fresh seafood as well as many Mexican dishes.  It offers a spectacular ocean front setting. Splash! serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers and cocktails each day of the week. (Splash 2, located in Rosarito, has recently opened under the same ownership.)  El Nido Restaurant is located on the main street in downtown Rosarito Beach. It is one of the first restaurants to open in Rosarito and today it remains as popular as it was in the beginning. It has a Western frontier motif with rustic wagon wheels in front. Inside is a cozy fireplace and open grill. El Nido offers delicious grilled steaks and seafood as does the outstanding Tapanco. Tacos?  El Yaqui, say no more.
