“There are certain moments in musical history when we wish we could say ‘I was there,’” stated Ed Marsh, executive producer of the show.
“This musical event will be historical due to its uniqueness, and groundbreaking production values. Who to best perform this epic event if not the greatest mariachi ensemble of all time: Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan!”
The Rosarito Beach Hotel and Resort was founded in 1925. The historic property is totally self-contained, yet only a short stroll from the downtown tourist district and a short drive from major Baja attractions like the Puerto Nuevo Lobster Village, Baja Studios (where Titanic was filmed) and the wine country of Valle de Guadalupe.
“This is a truly exceptional event at Baja’s state-of-the- art convention center,” said resort owner and former Rosarito Mayor Hugo Torres. “It will be a wonderful evening both for long time fans of great mariachi and those new to the genre. We are pleased to be associated with it.”
The Rosarito Beach Hotel and Resort also hosts an annual mariachi and folkloric ballet festival, one of the larger ones in the world, organized by Rosarito resident and author Gil Sperry.
