ACTIVITIES OVERVIEW

What to do in Mexicali

Mexicali is the gateway to many interesting activities and places, not the least interesting of which are the quiet Sea of Cortez town of San Felipe (about a two-hour drive), the amazing and dramatic La Rumorosa and Laguna Salada, Vallecitos that boasts prehistoric rock carvings and cave paintings, and even the little border town of Algodones (home to a zillion drugstores and doctors’ offices).  And within the city, itself, there are fun and interesting things to do, as well, although don’t expect Mexicali to cater to tourism quite the way other Baja destination cities do.
