Walked by... got the "vibe." WHOA. What's THIS place? My friend didn't want pizza that night so we went down to the Malecon for the predictable Lobster House. The next night I dragged her. We both had fantastic salads with pears and gorgonzola cheese, a mushroom bruschetta and carpaccio. Pizza looked and smelled amazing. Have no doubt it's GREAT. Sit inside or out. Friendly service and fun people from locals to Americanos. Prices reasonable too. DIG IT!

Locally Inspired and Wood Fired
Reviewed: May 16, 2012
As soon as we learned that talented Buffalo Bar-B-Q chef-owner Carlos Valdez had a wood-fired pizzeria, we had to go. In Al Forno’s impressive domed oven, he even burns the same hard woods - mesquite and mauto – that fuel Buffalo’s lena. They had classic pies like the Margherita, but since the Sea of Cortes was nearby, we opted for Baja Mar. The crisp crust touted local mozzarella, sweet shrimp, tender octopus, black olives, basil and red onion. It was fun to spoon on pizza-friendly salsas: sweet-smoky pineapple-chipotle and spicy jalapeno. The indoor-outdoor space also had good energy thanks to a young crowd, casual vibe and pop music.
