As a resident biologist here in México, I was invited to tour Isla Espiritu Santo, an Island off the coast of the Bay of La Paz. We went to the Sea Lion Colony where we were able to snorkel in refreshing cool , amazing clear waters with California Sea Lions! Wow! Then we sat mesmerized by a large pod of Pacific white sided- dolphins playing in a secluded bay on the island. This is also the area where we camped in fabulous Safari-style camp sites. The facilities are more than glamorous camping even after learning how to properly use the dry compost bathrooms- How cool! The hike up the island was incredible as we felt as if we were on top of the world, well maybe just the Gulf of California, dubbed The Mexican Galapagos! Only thing missing was the marine turtles (my area of research), I´ll find them next time. A Trip not to be missed!
