I have kind of an in depth matter. I moved out of my apartment on 4*2*02, I had lived there for almost 2 1/2 years. In August of 2000, there was a fire in the apartment next door & there was some damage done to the floors, carpets, and blinds in my apt. I have moved out & now the landlord is trying to charge me $500.00 for the carpet. So my question is, if there is fire damage from an apartment nearby although it was not my fault, are they required to replace the carpet in my apt for the next tenant?
