Marriage in Mexico

If my fiancee and I want to get married in Mexico what requirements (documentation,tests,fees,passports, etc.) is required by the Mexican government? In addition, who notifies the US GOVT that we are married? Is it a function of the Mexican govt to notify the US or is it the responsibility of the married couple? Both of us are US citizens. Thanks for your reply.
