hey guys,
I been wondering, right now (2007!!) how much would it cost to travel to baja. I mean if I go to Ensenada for example, how much pocket money would I have to have? The prices of goods, hotel accomodation, ecotours would range to how much?
it really depends on where you're planning to stay and what you wanna do in baja. there's plenty of affordable hotels and inns all over baja, and most of the beaches are open to the public. but if you wanna go snorkeling, shopping or clubbing it would be a shame if you can't go all out because of a tight budget. anyway you can look at the rates of hotels in baja in their websites, and you can also book rooms and tours online.
yeah, it depends on what you're planning to do and how long you're staying in baja. but basically, a vacation in baja would cost a lot more than one in the US which is why loads of people from San Diego, California and other nearby states come to baja for vacations, weekends and holidays

hey bajaboy! i guess you meant a vacation in baja would cost a lot LESS right? haha!

yeah i meant a lot LESS! hahaha! thanks for that skyscrapress and well come to the forum. about your question rafe, you should try going to baja during off seasons cause the prices are way lower. and if you're planning to be out all day in the beach and stuff, just get a small room in an affordable motel since all you're going to do there is sleep and shower. haha!
yes i agree! stay at an affordable inn or motel if you're not going to spend that much time there. there are plenty of free or really cheap sources of amusement in baja. you can try visiting the wax museum at tijuana (entrance fee is less than three dollars), the bullfighting arena or the old spanish missions. of course there's also plenty of public beaches everywhere in the peninsula.

Maybe fly through Houston or Los Angeles instead of DF.
Try the Ensenada Inn on Blvd Gen Sangines, just off of the Costero. Clean, centrally located, pool. Great places to eat nearby. Also plenty of low cost fun things to do in Ensenada anytime. If you are interested, PM me.
Many teens like the idea of a weekend flight, but according to Rick Seaney of the travel website FareCompare.com, one of the best day to fly is Wednesday. If your teen can avoid traveling on a Sunday, it could save them some major cash.
