Adobe Guadalupe Wine Dinner

Rating: 4/5
Lawino
Reviewed: August 5, 2013

We visited Valle de Guadalupe on Aug. 3 2013 for the Fiestas de la Vendimia and decided to participate in the Adobe Guadalupe Gala on Saturday night. It was described as a wine dinner/pairing and auction and costs $150 pp. You start off with a glass of sparkling wine as you walk through the back of the winery and then get to taste samples from about 12 special barrels that will be auctioned off later that evening. They offered h'orderves, but not nearly enough for all the wine you are sampling, (generous pours w/seconds if you like!). The dinner was very good, but again, not nearly enough food for all the wine being served and they did not pair the wine with the food or even tell you what you were drinking. Only red wine was served and the dinner had 2 salads, and they wouldn't even let you keep the souvenier glass! The dessert was ice cream with granola, just ok. Overall, the winery is absolutely gorgeous, the dinner elegant, but you may find a better value for the money.
