The Rosarito Ensenda 50 Mile Fun Bike Ride will celebrate its 34th anniversary on May 4th, 2013. The fun “race” will start in Rosarito and will follow a course that brings riders along the Pacific Coast as well as inland through the beautiful Baja countryside. The race will end in Ensenada where participants will enjoy a Finish Line Fiesta with drinks and live music.
Online, retail or event registration are possible. Aid Stations, Bike Repair, Finish Line Fiesta Entry, Live Rock-n-Roll, Medals, Medical Support, Sag Support and Traffic Control are included in the registration.
The first ride was September 29, 1979. Over the next years, it grew so large (to 17,500 riders!) that a Spring edition was added in 1986. The event is now organized twice a year, hosting over 500,000 happy participants who have collectively ridden over 20 million miles. There has never been a security issue with the event, and the experience since 1979 is that the tourist corridor from Rosarito to Ensenada remains a safe and affordable destination to travel.
