Chileno Bay Resort and Residences Debuts as a Contemporary Beach Getaway

Auberge Resorts Property Offers Exclusive Access to Tom Fazio-Designed Golf Course

Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, a beachfront hotel and residential villa complex managed by Auberge Resorts Collection, brings “a new expression of contemporary luxury” to Los Cabos with its recent debut.

The family-friendly resort, fronting one of the destination’s best protected swimming beaches, occupies the site of the former Hotel Cabo San Lucas, a legendary retreat patronized by Hollywood stars in the 1960s.  Accommodations and amenities at the 92-key resort (60 hotel rooms and 32 multi-bedroom villas), nestled in the sheltered cove and marine reserve of Chileno Bay, offer guests a casual beachfront lifestyle. The new resort complements award-winning Esperanza, an Auberge Resort perched on the bluffs of Punta Ballena outside of Cabo San Lucas.

“Chileno Bay Resort & Residences becomes our second exceptional resort in the dynamic destination of Los Cabos,” said Dan Friedkin, chairman of Auberge Resorts Collection. “We are particularly excited to be collaborating with another premier luxury brand, Discovery Land Company, to introduce a boutique resort to its exclusive private community of Chileno Bay. This is a pioneering move for both companies, one that will create a truly distinctive experience for Chileno Bay club members and resort guests.”

Chileno Bay Resort and Residences Debuts as a Contemporary Beach Getaway

The Tom Fazio designed Chileno Bay Golf Club is one of the many world-class courses in Los Cabos.

Guests of Chileno Bay Resort & Residences enjoy exclusive access to the club’s splendid Tom Fazio-designed golf course. Under the guiding hand of Discovery Land Company, the 7,260-yard, par-72 layout, reopened in November 2016, has been treated to numerous enhancements, including a new landscaping scheme. Bougainvillea, oleander and other colorful ornamentals have been planted beside the emerald-green fairways. To provide contrast, the rebuilt bunkers were filled with bright white sand. The layout’s native tawny bunkers, Fazio noted, “blend into undisturbed vegetation and contours, while new landscape areas visually enhance the overall aesthetic of the golf experience.”

Manicured to perfection, the golf course, framed by sandy arroyos, features a sea view from every hole. Displaying his trademark artistry, Fazio created graceful flowing landforms intended to simulate rolling ocean waves. Wide fairways and generously turfed areas create strategic options for good players while enhancing playability for average golfers. Seven sets of tees are available at Chileno Bay, with three sets of tees course- and slope-rated for women.

Fazio, who returned last year to put the finishing touches on a course that first opened in 2013, described the layout as “visually stunning,” noting that hole elevations range from 100 to 350 feet above the ocean, with several prominent natural pinnacles rising steeply above the fairways. “Golfers are in for a unique and fun golf experience that is matched by the quality of the rest of the development,” he said.

A well-balanced layout, Chileno Bay features an eclectic pair of back-to-back par 5’s at Nos. 6 and 7 as well as two “drivable” short par 4’s at Nos. 8 and 11. The back nine builds to a crescendo at the long par-4 18th, which measures 521 yards from a new back tee and tumbles downhill to an infinity-edge green backdropped by the Sea of Cortes.  The two complimentary comfort stations on the course, serving Kobe beef sliders, homemade tamales, beer on draft and an array of sweets, are exceptional.

The resort, which is located five minutes from the golf club, is characterized by clean lines, natural wood and hand-cut local stone accented by traditional Mexican design elements. A 450-foot-long, three-tiered swimming pool that resembles a river flowing to the sea is the hotel’s focal point. Private poolside cabanas are available, while the H2O Watersports Activity Cave offers snorkeling gear, glass-bottomed kayaks and other high-performance watersports equipment.

Dining experiences at Chileno Bay Resort & Residences celebrate the cuisine of Latin America. COMAL, a three-tiered open space, is helmed by internationally renowned chef Yvan Mucharraz and features a raw bar at its center. TnT, a casual beachfront eatery, serves street-style tacos, artisanal tequilas and freshly crafted cocktails.

Rounding out the resort’s amenities is the Auberge Spa at Chileno Bay, a tranquil haven that offers 10 indoor and outdoor treatment facilities, a purification garden, reflexology pool, salt inhalation room, ice fountain and more.

Quivira Golf Club Receives Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Award

Epic Jack Nicklaus-Designed Resort Course Garners Acclaim for a Second Time

For the second year in a row, Quivira Golf Club has received an Editors’ Choice Award for Best in Travel 2017 in the May issue of Golf Digest.

“We launched this program last year with the mission of identifying The Best Things in Golf, with an emphasis on lifestyle properties, products and services,” said Max Adler, Golf Digest’s editorial director.” Noting that the magazine was “overwhelmed by the positive response from readers,” the Editors’ Choice awards were renewed in 2017.

Golf Digest’s description of Quivira Golf Club in its online edition is spot on. “At the tip of Baja (California) Sur is the newest of more than a dozen Jack Nicklaus layouts in Mexico, and perhaps his most compelling, with holes along and atop granite cliffs and sand dunes overlooking the Pacific,” the report stated. “Several lodging facilities nearby offer access,” including Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf Resort & Spa, a deluxe all-inclusive, adults-only beachfront property favored by golfers.

Quivira Golf Club Receives Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Award

The spectacular Quivira Golf Club is set cliffside in Cabo San Lucas.

Last year, Golf Digest inaugurated its Editors’ Choice Best in Golf awards to extend its service franchises (100 Greatest Courses, Best Teachers, Hot List) into “rating the best of everything in the total golf lifestyle,” including top resorts in The Americas and internationally.

In the Mexico and Central America section of The Americas division, Quivira Golf Club was one of only six resort facilities selected. A Jack Nicklaus Signature course opened in 2014, Quivira has quickly established itself as one of the most spectacular new venues in the hemisphere. Created as an exclusive amenity for Quivira residents and guests of Pueblo Bonito resorts, this world-class layout, marked by sheer cliffs, massive dunes and rolling foothills, features dazzling views and breathtaking drops from tee to fairway. In a sun-splashed destination celebrated for its unique ocean-desert-mountain ecosystem, Quivira offers more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Los Cabos, with views of the Pacific from every hole. For avid players, the challenge presented by Quivira is every bit as scintillating as the views.

“Whether it’s a buddies trip or a getaway with our significant other, what we seek from a golf resort is an experience greater than our usual weekend round,” Golf Digest said of its selection criteria. “We want to be pampered on and off the fairways,” noting that “the joy of a great golf resort” is that “it’s overstocked with activities and diversions, and we get to pick our pleasures.”

Fred Couples Signature Course Breaks Ground at Twin Dolphin Golf Club

Naturalistic layout perched above Santa Maria Bay slated open in late 2018

Ohana Real Estate Investors has unveiled design plans and commenced construction on its Fred Couples Signature Golf Course at the Twin Dolphin Golf Club. Scheduled to open in late 2018, the golf course is set within Twin Dolphin, a 1,400-acre master-planned community.

When it opens, the course will be the first Fred Couples Signature Golf Course in Los Cabos. Couples is working with Todd Eckenrode of Origins Golf Design, the architect of record. “We want this to be a course that all players can enjoy,” Couples said.  “With its multiple sets of tees, it will vary in length and will feature undulating greens, dramatic elevation changes, impeccable fairways and natural bunkering.”

Fred Couples Signature Course Breaks Ground at Twin Dolphin Golf Club

Todd Eckenrode added, “We were meticulous in our mission to honor our surroundings. We’re building around the land, using local materials whenever possible and integrating and preserving natural features such as rock outcroppings, mature flora and landforms like arroyos in the golf routing.” Designed to pay tribute to the land, the layout, inspired by classic Golden Age courses, will feature an ocean view from every hole.

Rather than mass-grading and re-planting landscaped areas after the course is built, an environmentally-sensitive clearing plan has been established. The design team is grading from the center lines out to the perimeter of each golf hole and leaving the surrounding native vegetation intact. A buffer will be left on the perimeter of each golf hole to protect the natural beauty along the periphery of the course. Golf and landscape irrigation will utilize non-potable water from an on-site reverse osmosis desalination plant and wastewater treatment facilities.

Fred Couples Signature Course Breaks Ground at Twin Dolphin Golf Club

“The Twin Dolphin Golf Club will reinvent the typical golf experience with unexpected amenities at every turn,” said Neil Johnson, Ohana’s director of residential real estate. “We are bringing the clubhouse experience onto the course and changing the way amenities are experienced. On-course amenities will include food and drink options that will be available in new and very exciting concepts offering indoor-outdoor dining and relaxation areas. The buildings will have a residential feel and will be something that people who are not even playing golf will want to tag along and experience.” Guests will enjoy highly personalized on-course service staff, a full practice range, short-game practice chipping areas, practice putting greens, a full-service clubhouse, on-course amenities and caddies.

Practice facilities will include individual hitting stations with laser-measured yardages to target greens. Each hitting station will be equipped with player amenities. In addition, state-of-the-art instructional video and computer systems will be available to guests as part of the instructional program.

The course will be available to residential owners within the Twin Dolphin community, including Maravilla Los Cabos and Montage Residences Los Cabos; as well as Montage Los Cabos, a deluxe 122-room oceanfront hotel expected to open in 2018. The development occupies the site of the former Hotel Twin Dolphin, an iconic property now honored in name by the community and its golf club.

“Montage Los Cabos on Santa Maria Bay is the absolute best location for a resort in all of Los Cabos,” said Alan Fuerstman, founder and CEO of Montage Hotels & Resorts. “Its stunning natural setting, gentle swimmable beach on the Sea of Cortes, and its proximity to all that Cabo has to offer sets the stage for an extraordinary Montage resort.”

Cabo San Lucas – The Market at Quivira, a unique culinary concept unlike any other in Los Cabos, has been unveiled at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Golf & Spa Resort and has quickly established itself as a popular “foodie” destination.

Inspired by modern food halls found in major U.S. and European cities, including the Plaza Hotel in New York and Harrods in London, The Market, featuring an enticing array of eateries and a handsome central bar, has redefined the region’s gastronomic “food hall” experience. The Market welcomes Pueblo Bonito resort guests to enjoy its array of food and beverage options with their all-inclusive plans. Only the chocolate shop is not included in the all-inclusive program.

“Everyone loves the new food hall,” Gandara stated. The Market’s open-floor complex, designed to please all types of palates, features several distinctive restaurants as well as a coffee shop and a bar. These include:

  • El Deli – This bustling New York-style deli features the finest hot, cold or toasted sandwiches utilizing fresh-baked breads as well as selected meats, cheeses and condiments.
  • El Italiano – Homemade fresh pastas, traditional lasagna and a mouth-watering variety of brick oven pizzas are available at El Italiano, which also offers a splendid array of Italian desserts.
  • La Huerta – Specializing in fresh organic foods, La Huerta (‘The Orchard’) offers top-quality salads and vegetarian entrees, from a Portobello mushroom stuffed with quinoa and ceviche to a roasted beet salad served with blue cheese, arugula and walnuts.
  • El Mexicano– A wide range of Mexican dishes is available here, from traditional sopas (soups) and tacos al pastor (native to central Mexico) to chiles en nogada–poblano chilis filled with shredded meat, aromatics, fruits and spices and topped with a walnut-based cream sauce and pomegranate seeds.
  • La Chocolateria – Situated near the entrance to The Market, this signature outpost artfully displays the finest-quality truffles, chocolates and macarons. Perfect for a sweet finish. Also popular as a gift.
  • El Bar –The Market’s lively circular bar, featuring a 360-degree panorama of the restaurants and food stalls, offers artisanal beers, selected wines from Mexico, Italy and California, and a range of spirits (including tequila and mezcal).
  • La Cafeteria– This popular gathering spot offers custom-blended international coffees (four to six different blends daily) as well as hot or cold frappes and fresh-baked muffins, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls and more.

Looking ahead, Gandara said that a Sports Bar, situated on a spacious terrace adjoining The Market and the first of its kind at Pueblo Bonito, will open later this year.

World’s First Mezquila Born in Cabo

Sammy Hagar and Adam Levine launch the first-ever blend of premium Agave distillates that achieve a true Higher Spirit

Marking a first in the spirits industry, Sammy Hagar and Adam Levine announce the launch of Santo Mezquila, a premium blend of two distillates – 100% Blue Agave – commonly known as Tequila, and Espadin Agave, used to produce Mezcal. Born from a creative revelation that Sammy and Adam shared one night in Cabo San Lucas, and honed over two years, Santo represents the first quality blend of different agave distillates to hit the market.

“When Adam and I started tasting the different blends, I knew we had something special that people would love,” said Hagar. “It was only right to get the team back together and share Santo with the world.”

World’s first mezquila born in Cabo courtesy of rock stars Sammy Hagar (left) and Adam Levine. Santo Mezquila, a blend of tequila and mezcal, is launching during the first quarter of 2017.

Sammy Hagar, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and no stranger to the tequila world, joined forces with his The Voice co-star and tequila aficionado Adam Levine, and reunited the group behind the successful Cabo Wabo brand, including Jack Daniels and Marco Monroy, to build Santo Mezquila. Creative and tech agency Narrative_ helms the branding and advertising, while Infinium Spirits is managing the sales and marketing of the unique spirit that joins the two renowned beverages.

“With Santo you get that smooth, full agave, rich tequila flavor with a touch of smoky-sweetness that you can only find with Mezcal – perfect for sipping,” said Levine.

Santo is crafted by third generation master distiller, Juan Eduardo Nunez, from the famed distillery El Viejito in Jalisco, Mexico, and is being distributed in select markets nationwide, launching in Las Vegas, California, New York, Texas and Florida in the first quarter of 2017.

Tasting Notes:
Santo’s intense agave aroma mixes with an earthy, light smokiness with a hint of herbs. The initial bite is mellow and fades gently, while the full taste and finish elicits the intricate agave flavor and herbal complexity layered with gentle smoke, slight floral fruitiness and low saltiness. It has a particular sweetness to its finish.

Santo will be available in finer establishments nationwide – find a retailer and give in to a #HigherSpirit at SantoMezquila.com or find us on Facebook and Instagram @SantoMezquila.

Cabo del Sol Upgrades World-Class Ocean Course for 2017 Season

Landmark 36-hole facility also improves its underrated Desert Course

Latin America’s premier destination for world-class golf is found at the tip of the Baja peninsula in Los Cabos. Now boasting 15 courses laid out by several of the game’s leading designers, Los Cabos commands a unique ocean-mountain-desert ecosystem found nowhere else in the hemisphere.

The golf course credited with placing Los Cabos squarely on the international golf map is the Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol, a brilliant Jack Nicklaus Signature design debuted in 1994. This scintillating layout, described by Nicklaus as occupying “the best piece of golf property I’ve ever seen,” stretches for more than a mile across a stunning desert landscape backdropped by rugged 6,000-foot mountains. Often described as the ‘Pebble Beach of the Baja,’ the 7,111-yard, par-72 layout has seven holes touching a coastline marked by craggy granite outcrops and sun-drenched beaches washed by the Sea of Cortes. The Ocean Course is ranked among the Top 100 courses in the world by both Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine.

Cabo del Sol Upgrades World-Class Ocean Course for 2017 Season

Not content to rest on its laurels, Cabo del Sol completed a major bunker restoration late last fall to bring the layout’s strategic elements into sharper focus.  The project was directed by Jim Lipe, the original Ocean Course design associate for Jack Nicklaus.

“The impetus for the bunker renovation was to replace the contaminated sand with new, quality sand,” said Greg Tallman, Cabo del Sol’s director of golf.  “From there we began to study old photos, noting that the original forms and shapes had changed rather significantly over the 20-plus years the Ocean Course has been open. We were fortunate to have Jim Lipe review each hole with an eye toward eliminating several bunkers while also contemplating new ones that we had discussed through the years. The final result is a considerably upgraded facility with an overall aesthetic befitting such a great golf course.”

Once the old sand was removed from the layout’s bunkers, the bunker contours, which had flattened over time, were restored or reshaped. In addition, the bays and floors of the hazards were returned to their original concave shapes. Original course drawings and photos were referenced during the reconstruction process to achieve accuracy.

Taking a less-is-more approach, Lipe removed 19 bunkers and added five new ones. In two instances, bunkers were joined together to form a single sandy hazard. When the shaping was completed, new sand was introduced to all the bunkers, as was new drainage. The net result of the refurbishment: The Ocean Course now has 72 well-placed bunkers, 16 fewer than before the renovation. The bunker reduction accentuates the layout’s clean, flowing lines and majestic ocean views. Lipe noted that the bunkers that were taken out tended to penalize higher handicappers.

“We wanted flashed faces in the bunkers where it was needed for visibility, but overall we eliminated steepness in the bunkers to enhance playability,” Lipe explained. “Taking out superfluous formal bunkers enabled us to bring the desert back into the golf course.”

In addition to the remedial bunker work, two new ladies’ tees were added late last year. At the 14th hole, a short par 4, the new tee box occupies “a fairer and more attractive location” than previously, according to Tallman. At the spectacular par-4 18th hole, a grand left-to-right dogleg that traces the curve of the rocky, wave-tossed shore, a new seaside ladies tee now presents a more beautiful prospect from the red markers.

A final tweak was made to strengthen the par-5 15th hole, which tumbles downhill from the high point of the course to a broad fairway backdropped by the sparkling Sea of Cortés.  A new back tee has stretched the hole from 530 to 550 yards, while a new bunker in the driving zone, suggested by Nicklaus, is intended to give big hitters pause for thought.

While often overshadowed by the Ocean Course, the Desert Course at Cabo del Sol, a Tom Weiskopf design routed high above the Ocean Course and the Sea of Cortes, is a well-balanced test that takes golfers on a roller-coaster ride across barrancas and through cactus-covered foothills. Shot-for-shot, the Desert Course, opened in 2001, ranks among the finest and most complete tests of golf in Los Cabos.

Following rain and wind from a minor hurricane last fall, all bunkers on the Desert Course were cleaned of debris and later filled with new sand. Two bunkers were removed; two bunkers were converted to large “Baja bunkers,” or waste bunkers. In addition to the post-storm clean-up, an extensive clearing program on the Desert Course restored vast amounts of playable desert areas beside the fairways. The course now offers players a reasonable chance to recover from a wayward shot that departs the fairway.

Cabo del Sol’s magnificent 40,000-square-foot clubhouse serves both the Ocean and Desert courses. This elegant edifice fuses colonial and traditional architecture with modern amenities to create a distinctive Mexican hacienda design. Marked by magnificent arches, rich stone floors and high-beamed ceilings, the clubhouse features indoor and outdoor dining areas, an expansive golf shop, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and picturesque ocean and golf course views from its open-air verandas and landscaped terraces.

Los Cabos Wins IAGTO Award as 2017 Latin America & Caribbean Golf Destination of the Year

Prestigious award honors excellence of Mexico’s premier golf getaway

Mallorca, Spain – The International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), a global trade association of the golf tourism industry, has named Los Cabos, Mexico as the ‘Latin America & Caribbean Golf Destination of the Year’ for 2017 in recognition of its exceptional golf courses and unique geographical setting. The announcement of this benchmark accolade was made at a gala awards dinner at the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) held this year in the city of Palma, Mallorca.

Situated at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, at the place where the Sea of Cortes meets the Pacific Ocean, Los Cabos boasts an extraordinary mountain-desert-ocean environment where the game’s top designers have crafted some of the world’s finest courses.

Set back from the shoreline’s sun-drenched beaches and sparkling waters are more than a dozen exquisite layouts built by luminaries such as Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Greg Norman, Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and Tiger Woods. With two courses on GOLF Magazine’s “Top 100 Courses in the World” list and seven of the top 11 courses in Mexico based on Golf Digest’s  “Planet Golf” report, Los Cabos is the undisputed golf capital of Latin America.

Golf Destination of the Year

Ricardo Orozco, Vice President of the Los Cabos Hotel Association, accepts the IAGTO award for Latin American Golf Destination of the Year.

“We are delighted to accept this prestigious award from the world’s leading association of golf travel providers,” said Rodrigo Esponda Cascajares, Managing Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board. “Dating back to the early 1990s, we have welcomed some of the most spectacular golf facilities in the world. The recent addition of several outstanding newcomers has raised the bar of excellence and taken the Los Cabos golf scene to the next level.” He added that approximately 180,000 rounds of golf played each year in Los Cabos, with visiting golfers generating significant tourism revenues for the destination.

Esteban Toledo, a multiple winner on the PGA Champions Tour, serves as the official golf ambassador for the Los Cabos Tourism Board. “As a touring professional, I’ve been privileged to play all the top courses throughout North America,” said Toledo, a native of Mexicali, Mexico. “For beauty, challenge and variety, the golf courses in Los Cabos are in a class of their own.”

Led by several ‘gran turismo’ 5-star hotels and complemented by some of the best sport fishing and off-course adventures in the world, Los Cabos has in the span of 25 years established itself as a hotspot for avid players in search of an unforgettable golf experience. Only in Los Cabos do rolling, verdant fairways circulate players from rugged desert foothills to the turquoise-blue sea.

Add 340 days of sunshine and cooling sea breezes, and Los Cabos – or Cabo, as everyone calls it – emerges as a flawless getaway unique to itself. As a family-friendly “lifestyle” destination, with activities ranging from whale-watching cruises to desert jeep tours, Cabo has what everyone wants. Great weather. Superb dining. Sumptuous spas. Dawn-to-dusk nightlife. And the friendliest welcome in Mexico.

IAGTO’s tour operators generate more than 85 percent of the world’s golf vacations. Its nearly 600 members, hailing from 61 different countries, selected the 2017 winners. Judges nominated the best golf destinations based on the different experiences of their customers as well as criteria such as customer satisfaction, quality of golf courses and accommodations, price, professional conduct of suppliers, support of the local tourism industry and accessibility of tee times.

Seasonal Golf Specials in Los Cabos

World-Class Courses Offers Discounted Greens Fees, Twilight Rates

Golfers who visit Los Cabos this summer can expect well-conditioned courses, plenty of availability, a friendly Cabo welcome—and deeply discounted green fees. Summer is family vacation time, but it’s also the season that invites golfers to take a swing at bargain rates on a bevy of world-class venues.

For example, at Palmilla Golf Club, recently treated to a $3.5 million renovation, “dynamic pricing” enables players to take advantage of adjusted rates based on demand, availability and other factors. The club offers discounted rates starting at $105 for an 18-hole round at Palmilla, the “Grande Dame” of Los Cabos golf and the first Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course built in Latin America. For an ultra-luxe vacation, the 27-hole facility’s golf packages feature accommodations at One&Only Palmilla, a world-class property ranked in the top 1% by TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Awards.

At Cabo del Sol, the outstanding 36-hole complex with superb designs by Jack Nicklaus (Ocean Course) and Tom Weiskopf (Desert Course), segmented pricing through Sept. 30 entices golfers with the best values of the year. For instance, from 12:30 to 3:20 p.m., green fees on the Ocean and Desert layouts are priced at $150 and $100, respectively. Rates drop to $115 and $75, respectively, after 3:30 p.m. Discounted replay rates are available at Cabo del Sol, as are attractively-priced golf packages in conjunction with the Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda del Mar.

Summer Golf Deals in Los Cabos

The spectacular 13th hole at Quivira, one of many world-class courses in Los Cabos offering discounted greens fees this summer.

At Quivira Golf Club (pictured above), its Jack Nicklaus-designed course marked by sheer granite cliffs, huge windswept dunes and rolling desert foothills, players are privy to summer rates in two time slots through Sept. 30. Quivira’s mid-morning rate to play a world-class layout with more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Los Cabos is $267 (11 a.m. to 1:24 p.m.). The twilight fee, available from 1:36 to 3:00 p.m., is $227. Rates include food and refreshments at the club’s four comfort stations. ‘Stay & Play Packages’ at Pueblo Bonito resort properties are available.

All three Questro Golf courses in Los Cabos offer significant seasonal discounts through Oct. 31. Puerto Los Cabos, situated on the outskirts of San Jose del Cabo, boasts a unique composite layout with nine-hole designs by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus. (A third nine by Nicklaus is under construction and will open next year). The 18-hole green fee at Puerto Los Cabos is $195. The twilight rate (after 1:30 p.m.) is $135. In addition, dynamic pricing at Puerto Los Cabos brings low season rates down to $115 based on availability. Complimentary refreshments are served at a pair of on-course palapas.

At Cabo Real, centerpiece of a resort development with 3.2 miles of beachfront, an 18-hole green fee of $180 and a twilight rate of $125 after 1:30 p.m. are promoted on the club’s Robert Trent Jones II-designed layout, a superb layout that climbs from the beachfront into steep desert foothills high above the Sea of Cortes.

Questro Golf’s Club Campestre, located five minutes from downtown San Jose del Cabo and a local favorite, is a Nicklaus Design course chiseled into sloping desert terrain that offers excellent value. In addition to an 18-hole green fee of $140 and a twilight rate of $100 that starts at 11 a.m. Campestre also has a dynamic pricing structure that reduces green fees on selected dates to $75, arguably the best bang for the buck in Los Cabos.

Among other amenities, green fees at all Los Cabos facilities include shared golf cart, use of practice facility and bottled water.
