April ushers in the Spring event season in Baja California, with numerous high-profile to-dos, and enough variety – signature events range from sporting events to cultural festivals – to appeal to all ages and interests. Kids will appreciate the comic antics of those barnstorming basketball legends non pareil, the Harlem Globetrotters, who will be visiting Tijuana as part of their 90th anniversary tour. And adults will love sampling the peninsula’s best food and wines at the perennially popular Gastrovino festival in Todos Santos. The month’s best known and longest running event however, is the Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race. The 125-mile race/social dates back to 1948, and remains one of the premier West Coast regattas.
There are hundreds of local events that can be found on Baja.com. The following represent some of our favorite selections.
