Bufadora Inn will bring me back to Asuncion

I had a fantastic time at La Bufadora. My only regret is leaving when I did. This is the kind of place that makes you want to linger and explore.

Juan and Shari have built their inn on an incredible spot - the tide pools, the blowhole, the beach and swimming area, the views of the sea, sky and islands are all a stone's throw. The rooms at the inn are built out of beautiful stone and tile. From inside you can just hear the waves crashing ashore and nothing else.

The boat trips are great fun. I'll be back for whale season. I am very happy to find such a remote, beautiful spot so close to the border.

What a wonderful place to spend the night! Waves crashing on the rocks, seals barking from the surf and dolphins playing in the waves! The Bufadora Inn accomodations consist of beautiful rock faced rooms, private bath, and spectular views of the ocean. The private beach contains many shells to examine, tide pools to explore and sunshine to enjoy!

I had always wanted to visit Bahia Asuncion so on the way home from the tip we stopped in for a few days break from the road. Little did we know we would stay in this great town for 9 days of fun, fishing and familia! The Bufadora Inn is an awesome location, outside of the hustle and bustle of town(okay, hustle and bustle is a bit of a stretch), and get the nicest sea breezes. The rooms are great, nice deck to hang out on, and Sheri and Juan are around to answer questions, tell stories, and make you an awesome pina colada if you are REALLY lucky.
We would go back to Asuncion in a heartbeat and would either stay here or rent a house in town from Sheri and Juan(though we would miss the tranquility of the Bufadora Inn...

I have stayed in this lovely room in the premier location in Asuncion. You can see both sunrises and sunsets from the deck, private beach and you are in the heart of the social action in Asuncion. The hosts are great people and can provide guided fishing, whale watching, diving and other tours. The food is home cooked and excellent. This place is clean as a whistle, the shower hot and the location cannot be beat. This place is a real bargain. The village is safe, friendly and has great restaurants. I only wish I were there right now!

The room was great, very impressive rock work gives a warm atmosphere to the room. Comfy queen size bed with quality linens. Nice bathroom with GREAT TOWELS! Small private beach and great views of the blowhole and breakers. Hospitality from Shari and Juan is outstanding. This is not your standard resort and that is a good thing!

I stayed at the Sunset Casita a few years ago for a week and loved it. This year I decided to stay in one of the new rooms at the Blow Hole. I have stayed at decent number of rentals in my days of travel and I have to say that the bed in the room we stayed in was one of the the most comfortable beds I have slept in in a long time. 5 star quality. Which is amazing because some many places in Mexico barely have a 1 star bed. :) For relaxation this place does not get much better with the sound of the ocean just steps away from your room. Shari and Juan are always a pleasure to spend time with. They are the greatest hosts. Often offering up the daily catch to guests as sashimi or ceviche. The breakfast was wonderful and sipping on coffee in the morning on the patio with that amazing view is almost indescribable. Bahia Asuncion is a neat little sleeping fishing village but may not be for everyone. There are no chains or big markets, but there is plenty of good genuine charm among the locals and some unique places to dine. It is a place for people who need to get away from the big city type atmosphere and re charge for a weekend or maybe a month. Her knowledge of the Grey Whale migrations that was taking place while we were there is incredible. They literally pass right in front of their place on their way up north. They have a little whale highway right in front of there house. My friend from Mexicali loved this place and didnt want to leave but the Whales where awaiting us in the Lagoon. We stayed only 2 nights, maybe should have stayed 4 or 5. I enjoyed spending time with Juan talking about fishing and helping him rig some gear.
I almost forgot, one of the days was spent on a little road trip up north to San Rogue a tiny little fishing camp. Miles and miles of untouched beach. Great place for a lunch or to just ponder your next move in life.
Best view in Asuncion!!!
